AT(mega) Analog Plotter

This is a project using an Arduino UNO to act as an Analog Plotter.

This was designed mainly for use with a Philips/Fluke PM3320A.

The analog output is a DIN5 (midi-like) connector, facing from left to right:

  • X
  • GND
  • Y
  • GND
  • Z

With 1V fullscale, and maximum to 12V for Z (actually it doesn’t seems to be more than .5/1V and the arduino doesn’t have fried).

The arduino schematic and pictures are the following:

To use it, build the hardware, upload the sketch and use plotter.py with python3.

This is really basic and may contains errors. I don’t have figured exactly the number of counts from the horizontal axis.

The vertical is always 1024 (10bits) height.

The arduino is configured to use INTERNAL AnalogReference, which is 1.1V, because we have a 1V fullscale on the plotter output.
